Handmade and signed 4″ ceramic mug by North Carolina folk artist and potter Nell Cole Graves
Nell Cole Graves (1908–1997) is the daughter of Jacon Bewit Cole, the founder of J.B. Cole Pottery near Seagrove, through which two centuries of Cole potters persisted in region. Graves’ father taught her to throw on a treadle wheel from age 9, and Graves eventually came to run the family business.

This oversized coffee mug features a beautiful mauve glaze with tiny speckles. It has rounded lower walls and an elegant hand-formed handle.
Excellent pre-owned condition for its age. No chips or cracks. Please see photos for details.
