Description and history of Middleton Plantation is hand-written on the reverse side

This plantation was the ancestral home of the Middleton family. Arthur Middleton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, is buried here. The grounds feature the oldest formal landscaped gardens in America. This decorative collectible piece represents the guest wing restored by the family after the Civil War.
