Handmade and signed 5″ ceramic vase by North Carolina folk artist and potter Nell Cole Graves

Nell Cole Graves (1908–1997) is the daughter of Jacon Bewit Cole, the founder of J.B. Cole Pottery near Seagrove, through which two centuries of Cole potters persisted in region. Graves’ father taught her to throw on a treadle wheel from age 9, and Graves eventually came to run the family business.

This small, elegant flower vase has a beautiful semi-gloss jade glaze with natural speckling.

Good pre-owned condition for its age. No chips or cracks. Please see photos for details.
