Glenn Bolick Signed 11″ Flower Vase – Vintage Pottery – Blowing Rock, NC

A large, beautiful 11″ redware vase made by Glenn Bolick in Blowing Rock, NC.

Bolick Pottery was established and run by Glenn and Lula Bolick between Lenoir and Blowing Rock after their marriage in 1962. Lula is a member of the prominent Owens pottery family, the daughter of renowned NC potter Melvin (ML) Owens. Glenn and Lula Bolick have each become important and collectible NC potters in their own right, and both are recipients of the North Carolina Heritage Award.

This tall, elegant flower vase is coated in an exquisite creamy tan glaze typical of the Bolick family style. It features tooled ring marks on the outside and stands just slightly over 11″ tall. This skillfully-turned vintage piece by Glenn Bolick has excellent visual balance, and is an example North Carolina folk art minimalism at its very best.
